- She was the adopted daughter of Thomas L Jones of Natchez. I don't know if her birth name is Taylor or if she was married previously; if she was, she must have been very young. I believe her names lies somewhere between the two names in the marriage records. She was probably just plain Lucinda Taylor who dreamed of having a glamourous name such as Victorine Angorone; she was a teenager, after all, and orphaned.
One must assume that, after Grenville's untimely death, Vicky took her sons back to Louisiana where William Henry later met Lizzie. She probably remarried and chose to use her husband's name for the boys. William doesn't resurface until 1900 in Galveston County, Texas, married and with children.
