- Funeral of Mr. Henderson
The mortal remains of Mr. David Henderson were followed to their last resting place by a large concourse of citizens yesterday. Mr. Henderson was a native of Kentucky, born near Lexington in the year 1780. In 1804 He emigrated to the State of Ohio and settled near the town of Dayton. In the War of 1812, he served as an officer in Captain Lemon's company and was dischrged from service, together with his company, at Upper Sandusky. He returned home, and pursued his former business, with his partner Mr. James Elliott until the year 1832. Having in the year 1826 lost his wife, he carried his children to Delphi, Carroll county, in the State of Indiana, and placed in charge of a relative of their mother whither he followed them in the 1832. He remained in Delphi until May, 1838. From that time until his decease he has resided with his son-in-law Mr. David Rose of this city. He was a man of quiet and unobtrusive manners, and of unbending integrity. He leaves many friends and acquaintances to mourn his loss.
