GALVESTON ? Joseph D. Hartnett Sr., 81, of Galveston, Texas died Thursday, September 26,1996, at his residence. Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 30, 1996, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Fr. Larry Dunham, O.F.M. and Co Celebrant, FT. William Bartniski officiating, Burial will follow the services Monday, September 30,1996, at Old Catholic Cemetery in Galveston. Mr. Hartnett was born March 13, 1915, in Galveaton and retired after 35 years as a crane operator with The Galveston Wharves. Mr. Hartnett was also a charter member of the Galveston Industries Federal Credit Union. He is preceded in death by his daughter Kathryn Sue Hartnett. He leaves behind to cherish his memories his loving wife of 60 years, Cecilia Hartnett of Galveston, Texas. Survivors include his sons, Joseph D. Hartnett Jr., and wife, Elizabeth of La Marque, Texas, John P. Hartnett and James E. Hartnett and wife, Shaula of Round Rock, Texas. Mr. Hartnett is also survived by his two half sisters, Josephine Heffernan Phipps of Galveston, Texas and Margaret Hartnett, also of Galveston, and his three half brothers, David Hartnett of La Marque, Texas, Thomas Hartnett of La Marque, Texas and Edmund Hartnett of Rock Port, Texas. Also left to cherish memories are his eight loving grandchildren and nine great grand children, and his favorite niece, Patsy Phipps Judia. Pallbearers will be Paul Judia, Mike Hartnett, Lee Gathman, John R. Hartnett, Joseph D. Hartnett HI, Chris Hartnett, Mark Ross and JeffDuckworth. Honorary pallbearers will be Vito Messina, Herbert Hendrickson, Charles Mallia, Jerome Godinich, Dr. Doug Stiernberg, Jack Case, Steve Cerwin, Matthew Hartnett, Christopher Case and Alison Gathman.
