- Funeral Services for Mrs. Lucinda Richards Held Here Saturday
Funeral services for Mrs. Lucinda Elizabeth Richards, 85, were held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock from the chapel of Phillips and Luckey funeral home with Rev. R. A. Brigham of the First Christian church officiating.
The body was then taken to the old Hurt cemetery near Elevation for burial.
Mrs. Richards died Friday morning at her home hear Cameron.
She was born on July 5, 1864, in Milam county in the community that is now Hicks, and was a member of the Wilson Maples family who were old residents of this section.
She was married to Joseph M. Richards of Hicks who died in 1907. The husband and an only son, W. W. (Billy) Richards, preceded her in death. Since the passing of the son in 1931, she made her home with a nephew, Frank Parker. She is the last of her immediate family to go.
Mrs. Richards was a long time member of the Christian church and was active in church life until becoming an invalid some eight years ago.
During her last illness a granddaughter came from California to be at her bedside. She also paid her grandmother a visit last summer.
There survive two grandchildren, Mrs. Alma May Rice of California and J. C. Richards of Dallas; also ten step-grandchildren, six great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
