Funeral services for Grand Lee "G. L." Fincher, 87, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 24, 2006, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Bro. Gary Huggins officiating. Interment will follow at Union Grove Cemetery north of Wills Point.
He passed away Monday morning, November 20, 2006, at his residence.
Grand Lee was born January 15, 1919, in Bardwell, Texas, the son of Richard Thomas Fincher and Bell Elizabeth Armstrong Fincher. He was raised in Peeltown. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II. On August 3, 1943, Grand Lee was married to Frances Nell McCarter in Dallas. He was a retired truck driver for Roadway Express and was also employed by Herrin Feed & Seed in Wills Point and J&D Feed in Wills Point. He owned and operated Fincher's Sanitation Service. He lived in the Seagoville and Pleasant Grove areas prior to moving to Wills Point in 1969. He was of the Baptist faith.
Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Frances Nell Fincher on June 20, 2005; son, Ricky Lee Fincher on April 23, 2005; two brothers, George Thomas Fincher and Richard Fincher and a sister, Elizabeth Bettinger.
He is survived by his four sons, Edward Fincher & wife, Margie, of Farmers Branch, Ronny Fincher & wife, Laura, of Garland, Randy Fincher & wife, Pamela, of Wills Point and Rodney Fincher, of Wills Point; daughter, Dorothy Sehorn, of Tawakoni; daughter-in-law, Tomi Fincher, of Seagoville; two brothers, Troy Fincher, of Rhode Island and Howard Fincher, of Arizona; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
