Notes |
- Maynard and Minton are supposed to be twins. Minton's death certificate gives his birth as 26 Oct 1886, Louisiana and Manard's WWI draft registration says 3 Nov 1884, his tombstone also has 1884. Manerd's WWII registration gives 21 Oct 1884, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I believe they were adopted and that they were not actually twins.
Family 'legends' is Manerd and Minton were adopted from Native Americans. There surname at birth was Godfrey. The boys parents alledgedly lost in an attack, and the Native Americans took the two boys. We have found no documentation for any of this. I heard this story from my grandmother, one of Manerd's daughters. [Brad L Hubbard]
