There are a lot of records for John McKinnis. The one who died in Washington seems to be correct, he was born in Hancock County at the right time. Unfortunately, I can't find any other information that I know is him. The 1920 says he was divorced but the Vet's Home records say his wife was Marion McKinnis. His death record says Mrs John McKinnis. He and Marian married just a few months after the 1920 census. Who was his first wife? Did he have children?
It's possible that this is the same John who was married to Sarah for 25 years on the 1900 from Boulder, Colorado, but not positive. That John says his mother was born in Ohio and they were in Polk County, Iowa, in 1880. If the Colorado John is ours, then he was probably previously married to Emily and lived in Allamakee County in 1870. | MCKINNIS, John (I23482)
