Mrs. Thompson was born April 21, 1933 in Sterling, Co. She was a resident of Hitchcock for 34 years and a member of the TOPS organization. She is preceded in death by her son, Dale Thompson, and is survived by her husband Harvey J. Thompson of Hitchcock, Tx.; her mother, Bernice Ashby of Sterling, Co.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas Thompson of Santa Fe, Tx, Damon and Nancy Thompson, Eddie and Alicia Thompson, both of Hitchcock, Tx.; sisters, Linda Kirkendall of Goshen, IN, and Karen Taylor of Sterling, CO.; and seven grandchildren, Melani Thompson, Dale A. Thompson, Steven Thompson, Damon W. Thompson, Jr., Amy Thompson, Candy and Mandy Young.
Pallbearers will be Alan Armstrong, Kevin Cole, Damon Thompson, Dennis Graham, Gordy Thomson, and Steve Stephenson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Douglas Thompson, Lonnie Langley, Dale Thompson, Steven Thompson and Melani Thompson.

Inez (Stevens) O'Neal Swan, 88, of Fort Worth, died Thursday, Dec, 30, 1993, in a Fort Worth hospital. Graveside services will be 2 p.m., Sunday, January 2, 1994, at Fort Parker Memorial Park with the Rev. Troy Brooks officiating.
Inez was born in Marquez, Leon County, Texas, to the late John D. and Ollie (Copeland) Stevens. She married Leland Swan on Nov. 14, 1952. Inez was a homemaker and a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was also a Baptist.

J. A. Hancock, who has been conducting a boarding house and wagon yard in Lampasas for about a year, died Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. He was 76 years of age, was born near Key West, Florida, and came to Texas when he was about 21 years of age. He lived in Freestone county forty-one years, and thence moved to Bexar county, coming here about a year ago. He died from the effects of a cancer on his face, which finally sapped his life away. James "Jim" Leonard Griffin, Jr., 54, of Conroe, Texas passed away October 6, 2013.
He was born November 11, 1958 in Galveston, Texas to James Sr., and Patricia Griffin. Jim was raised in La Marque, Texas in the Catholic faith. When Jim was 21, he suffered a head injury which resulted in him spending the majority of his time at Touchstone Neuro Behavioral Center for the rest of his life.
Jim loved family, his own and extended. He loved classic rock music and there were many times he would sit back in his recliner and listen to music for hours. Jim was like a cat with nine lives, always bouncing back. He was known for his kindness and good heart. Through all of his trials and tribulations, and there were many, Jim's heart remained true. He will truly be missed.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents.
Jim is survived by his sisters, Becky Cornelius and her husband Jack, Patti Stevens, Jeanie Lampard and her husband David; brother, Tom Griffin; nieces and nephews, Dustin Cornelius, Adam Lampard, James Buckley, Christin Fields, Amana Kuhn, Shane Lampard, Shannon Buckley, Nick Stevens; and numerous other extended loving family members and friends.
A Visitation will be held Thursday, October 10, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. ? 8:00 p.m. at Crowder Funeral Home, 2422 Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. Graveside Services will be Friday, October 11, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Park East Cemetery, in Webster, Texas, with Pastor Bill Cole officiating.

James Coon was born in Columbus County, Ohio, February 21, 1811, and departed this life January 23, 1897, aged 85 years, 11 months and 2 days. Deceased was married in Wisconsin in 1856 to Nina Blake, from which union were born seven daughters and two sons, all except one girl living to mourn the loss of a father. Mr. Coon moved to Iowa in 1876 where he has made his home until his death. Funeral services at the home of his son, Reese Coon, living south of Correctionville, conducted by George N.
