DIANA -- Services for Gary Lane Clifton Sr., 52, of Gilmer, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2006, at New Hope Baptist Church in Ore City with Brother Tony Pierce officiating. Mr. Clifton passed away Saturday morning in Longview.
"Big G" was born February 27, 1953, in Marshall, Texas, and had lived in Gilmer since 1983, where he owned and operated Clifton's Truck and Tractor Repair for more than 23 years. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and was a leader in the children's department AWANA program.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Clifton of Gilmer; four sons, Shane and Jennifer Nunley of Gilmer, Matthew Clifton of Henderson, Gary Lane Jr. and Sara Clifton of Gilmer, and Sherman Boyce of Liberty City; two daughters, Alice Hodge of Longview, and Katy and Juan Puga of Gilmer; two brothers, Jim Clifton of Lake Jackson, and Melvin Armstrong of Henderson; two sisters, Patsy Jones of Pearland, and Carol Graves of Price; 13 grandchildren; and several other loved ones.
