    "James B Wills (born circa 1798 in Tennessee) and Anna "Amy" W Shackelford came into Texas in 1840 and they had children born in Tennessee, Missouri, and their last son born in Texas. James B was the son of Lillie Buchanan and James Wills, born in Pennsylvania, who later lived in Montgomery County, VA, and served in the Revolutionary War and was buried in Clay County, MO.
    "James B Wills' children include: Reuben (born circa 1818) married Jane Buster; Sarah J, married William McCray; Lumisa married William Connell; Tabitha L married alexander J Dallas; William Riley (born Aug 3, 1826) married Saluda Elizabeth Cross; James Wilson married Mary Ann; Daniel; David; Nancy Evaline married James L Hogan; Almira E marries John C Anderson; Archibald married Rebecca Pennington; and George Alexander (born October 1841, in Texas) married Sarah E Cook.
    "He had two land grants (of 640 acres each) in an area west of Holland. He and other Wills were prominant in early Holland and was in the meat market business. He and son William Riley, took stock in the company organized by Col Robertson to build a Bell County Courthouse and jail."

    "William Riley Wills, son of James B Wills and Anna "Amy" Shackelford, was born Aug 3, 1826, at Clay County, MO. He came to Texas in 1840 and was 17 years at the time of his parents' 640 acre land grant in Milam Dist. He located first in Independence, Washington County. In 1847 he enlisted to fight in the Mexican War.
    "William Riley sailed around the Horn to the California Gold Rush. In 1852 he returned to Texas and on March 10, 1853, married Saluda Elizabeth Cross, who was born in Mississippi, March 9, 1837. Their children were: Lucy A (born May 22, 1854) married William B Ranne; Thomas (born circa 1856); Almira L "Myra" (born circa 1858) married John L Allman; Amy J (born November 1860) married W Jones Miller; James R (born circa 1862) married Annie Sanderford; Virgil (born circa 1864); David; Mary "Mollie" Emaline (born May 27, 1870) married George Rufus Sanderford; Curtis (born circa 1872) married Lillie Jacobs; Oliver S (born circa 1875) married Plum Garner; and John C (born August 1877) married Ida Kaiser.
    "In the Civil War, he was in the Confederate Army, rounding up cattle for its troops in west Texas. In 1865 he bought 392 acres of land in Nolan Valley. He died April 27, 1902, and is buried at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Nolanville."
